Once we had a nice sleep (as nice as possible with a 4 month old waking up all the time), we went to check out the beach today. Everett get decked out in his shades and hat, and Sierra put on her flowers swimming suit.
I can see how the beach here isn’t the best for little children. The sand is nice, although on the coarse side, but right at the water line are rocks that don’t allow for wading in. That’s ok though because it took a little bit of time before Everett was ok even just walking in the sand. Then we coaxed him into putting his feet in the surf. After some freaking out and reassurance, especially when his feet started to sink under the sand he got a little bit better.
A safe distance from the water, and making some sand castles and swimming pools, he observed that the water kept lapping up and down the beach. Everett remarked, “Too slippery, water can’t climb up!”
After a short while, we just headed back to the pool where Everett found his favorite toy trucks and the nice and warm hot tub. We BBQ’ed some teriyaki beef and then headed out for another shopping extravaganza at Costco. We wanted to track down a swimming vest for Everett but despite visiting 3-4 stores, we didn’t have any success.
