Dark Light

Sierra continues to work hard at gymnastics – stretching and practicing at home. She does cartwheels all the time. We searched for the right gymnastics program for her so that she can achieve her goal of doing a back handspring. We took a couple private lessons in Calgary which were ok, but too far to do all the time. She did a course at Premiere Cheer, but the instructor didn’t seem very motivated and she didn’t have very much fun. I also wasn’t used to watching Sierra do her lessons out in the waiting room on a TV screen, espscially being right in the gym in Bali, but it seems like that’s a “norm” here. But finally, we found an instructor in Sylvan Lake that ran a good weekly program that Sierra loved and she managed to fine tune some skills.

Sierra also took part in rhymthic gymnastics, so yes, three gymnastics programs. The best way to think of rhythmic gymnastics is that it is dancing. She seemed to like the program and her favorite part was learning a choreographed routine.

Sierra has also been working on piano. It’s not an easy instrument to learn and reading notes is a work in progress, but Sierra definitely likes making music and this Baby Kangaroo song is cute!
