It took about an hour to hand over from Kym yesterday. It was definitely a record: 32 patients. After that phone call, I really just wanted to turn off my phone and go to sleep. Fortunately, it is a relatively short “block” and I’m working only 7 days. I went in in the evening and rounded mostly in peace between 8:30pm-1am. This is when all the allied health staff are gone, so I get all the charts to myself with the fewest interruptions. 23 patients were on Unit 31, so basically I had almost all the patients on that unit!

Everett went to bed at around 7:30pm and I got to catch up on a lot of work… including making this WordPress site operational!
