Seeing as how Everett was very successful in potty training in Hawaii, that time in Kauai, we decided to attempt the same with Sierra in Oahu.
The only toys that Sierra is really crazy over is Moana, so Shannon found some tiny figurines that she brought over. There weren’t as many as Everett’s Paw Patrol, but we are hoping that they would have the same effect.
Like with Everett, we bought a potty at Walmart. Initially, we started rewarding Everett for using the toilet with candies, and Sierra would get one because she didn’t understand. Then today with some good timing coming in from swimming, Sierra peed in the potty and celebration! She was rewarded with the big prize, the baby Moana figurine. Then it clicked. She peed again and got Piggy. Then she kept trying and trying to push something out.
Everett was a big cheerleader, and helpful Bean, of course.
Toward the end of the day, Sierra started getting really upset and mad because no matter how hard she tried, nothing would come out. We tried explaining that she’d just have to try again tomorrow, but she was not having any of that.
