The other day Everett and I were playing “paw trolls” downstairs and we were playing out the scene from his book where the rock slide covers the train tracks and the train becomes stuck in the tunnel. “Oh no! The train is stuck” he tells me with much enthusiasm. “We need Rubbles digger truck” I say playing along. He then looks at me and says “I need a go pee, get Rubbles digger truck” and runs off to the bathroom. He was anticipating that he would get his truck as a reward if he went on the potty. He knew what he had to do in order to get ‘what he needed.’
Our reward system for when he goes poo or pee on the potty is a paw patrol character or one of their vehicles or just a m&m candy. He loves his rewards and always looks forward to getting something after he goes. I hope he keeps it up after the rewards run out.
On this occasion though we didn’t have a rubble digger truck to give him so he was out of luck but he sure has the system figured out! Go on the potty and get a toy. What a smart little bean trying to work the system! Haha
