The Hyatt in Kauai has one of the nicest hotel grounds that I’ve seen. It has a beautiful garden like feel to it with swimmable rivers separated by waterfalls, a nice sandy and warm lagoon along with a botanical garden. Every evening, there is a song and dance show in main atrium which is designed in such a way to frame the beach and ocean beyond.
We visited the Hyatt a couple of times as it was just down the road from our hotel Koloa Landing. Every morning at 9am, they had koi feeding, which Everett and I partook a couple of times before Sierra and Shannon woke up. The koi here were much hungrier than the ones at Waipouli Beach Resort, and there were way more of them.
One night Edwin kindly volunteered to stay in while the kids slept and Shannon and I went for a date night at the Tidepools restaurant. It was very $$, but also very very delicious. The scallops were excellent and the sample main featuring ono fish was very satisfying. The waiter forgot one of our appetizers, the beef tataki, and because of that, we got both our appetizers for free, along with an extra dessert!
We went down on one of our last nights in Kauai for some family portraits. Edwin did a great job even though the kids didn’t cooperate. For some reason, Everett shys away from cameras and purposefully doesn’t perform when the films is rolling. Sierra, for whatever reason, looked like she had this scowl the whole time.
Before going home after photos, we stopped to watch the song and dance, as Everett seems to like the performances. The lady asked who had a birthday this month, and before I knew it, I was volunteered along with several others to go up on stage! After some hesitation, of course, Everett wanted to come too.
