Although this is technically Everett’s 2nd Halloween, it was the first one he really enjoyed. The first year, we didn’t even live in our new house yet, but we drove over and went door to door to visit the people we knew. This time, Everett went out walking door to door on his own. Sierra and Shannon joined us a little later after Sierra finished eating (which she is pretty much doing all the time, this or sleeping or crying).
Everett was scared at first. He wasn’t sure what to make of the bigger kids dressed in “scary” costumes, or the frightful decorations of our neighbours. But eventually, he caught on that when you went around to the houses and said “Trick or Treat” you’d get a little something in your bag. Then it was off to the “Next house.”
Occasionally, there’d be a decoration that was too scary, so I carried Everett over to the next place. He was pretty much the smallest one out, so it was very cute. He’s all dressed up in his Marshall costume from Paw Patrols, including Paw Patrol shoes. He doesn’t hold on to his bag yet, so it’s just slung over his wrist. I’d have of offload treats into his backpack, or actually, my own pockets!
