Dark Light

Dear Everett,

You are getting to be such a big Bean now. You used to be a little Bean, the littlest Bean actually sleeping at Candice’s but now you are five and with that milestone birthday you have learned and matured quite a lot already.

You love school at First Steps. After graduating from Montessori, you never looked back. Part of it is because your friends Harrison, Eli, and to a lesser extent Arlo is at First Steps. You were very happy to be in Mrs. P’s class, and she loves having you in her class too. You were looking to joining Harrison and Eli in Mrs. Stassach’s class next year, but shortly after you realized that they move up too to Grade 1.

Disappointed a little, but only for a short while, you kept on going. You tell Sierra who still needs a few minutes cry after drop off at Montessori that next year she’ll be at First Steps with you. Your favorite days are when it’s your show and share day! You are excited all week and the night before you get your show and share ready to go. Lately it has been your Pokemon toys.

This week in 2020, you asked if we could sign you up for Brain Busters, the after school program on Wednesdays. You are usually picked up later than the rest of the kids, because mom and dad have to work and pick you up at 4pm instead of 3. But then on Wednesdays you are upset that we did you up too early, because the Brain Busters kids come in. So now that you’re five, you are able to join them and you had a great time last week learning to be a detective, and doing fingerprints. You told me you were doing science! Everett, you are the perfect kid for Brain Busters because you are interested in how things work, and I see you really absorbing everything the teachers teach you and learning about the work.

Here’s a video of you at drop off, and you showing me around at your morning routine. Daddy still misses you at drop off too.
