Every year, after the Calgary Stampede, the fair comes to Red Deer and we get a weekend of rides and carnival. This year, we decided to head out with the kids and check it out.
Even though the Hardy’s and Whitkenzie’s were there, and we even saw teacher Yvonne, the kids worse also in terms of their behavior. Whenever we go past the bedtime, they just end up being disasters, and it is not worth it.
At the beginning however, it was interesting. Unfortunately, many of the rides Sierra was not able to go because she was too short. There were only a couple of rides Everett was able to go on, sincerely so Sierra had to watch from sidelines.
We have tried the merry-go-round before, and once again, the kids not seem too interested, especially Everett. I think he did like the train (and Sierra definitely wanted to go on this one, but could not). His Weber one must of been the one that he went on himself a couple of times which is a little bit of a “fun house” ride that you get to climb up and slide down at the end.
I went down a super slide with Everett one time, and after that he became obsessed about going on it again. Even meeting his friends, and trying to get him to go on rides with them, he did not want to go with the girls and instead wind about going on the slide. So I let him walk up himself with the girls when they eventually agreed to go on. The result was that he ended up crying at the very top necessitating a rescue. It looks a lot scarier from the top looking down.
