Six and a half already! She used to be four! It seems like I might have all the time in the world the to enjoy the kids as being little. But in a blink of an eye, my little piggy is manifesting her independence, reading books without help, choose her own fashion, and doing her own thing.
In this video, Sierra asked me why she had to leave in the end. She didn’t like that part. I was surprised at her reaction because I didn’t think she would have noticed – you know, waking up in the morning, the AM routine, leaving to play with friends – a fairly typical summer schedule.
It is bittersweet for me, because I know as a parent that I have to let her grow up, let her go. I’m happy that she is so confident but also miss how dependent on us she was in the years gone by.
