When Louise comes, we make sure to tell the kids to clean up their rooms and toy room or threaten that she will vacuum all the toys up. They’ve been pretty good with this in helping keep the place tidy.
As you can see, Everett prefers keeping his room tidy and things off the floor. Sierra and Everett really share Everett’s room because of the bunk bed, and the kids say they feel lonely when they’re not together. Sometimes if one of them end up in our bedroom in the middle of the night, the other will somehow notice and need to come sleep in our bed as well.
Sierra, who does her own thing, often spends time in her own room, looking at books, playing with make up, trying on her swim suits, etc. She doesn’t care as much (and not as eager to please anyone including dad) and has no qualms about having a messy room. It’s not unusual to find her room strewn with clothes, sometimes makeup on the carpet, and books all over.
Everett likes to follow the rules, and when Sierra doesn’t, he gets very frustrated and this can end up in a meltdown. Sierra doesn’t care and it’s quite funny.
