Everett is doing very well with his letters, sounding out words, learning new sight words and writing. Sierra wants to be able to read and write too, but it’s not as easy as it looks!
After a lot of repetition, I think I’ve got her to recognize A and E, and not get them mixed up. I’ve started with the letters in her name, because we have been repeating the spelling of her name to her for a while now. S and I are no problem. When she sees “A”, she has to recite “S-I-E-R-R- A!” instead of just saying A.
Sierra likes coloring and crafts, but she is not very patient at learning writing, although she tries very hard! Here I am trying to teach her how to do some writing. She see that Everett wrote his own daily schedule, and she wants to do one too, but it is a little beyond her right now, and she doesn’t like it!
