We continue to take the kids out swimming as much as we can and I try to go out every weekend that I’m not working. It has become somewhat of a Sunday routine. We take advantage of Toonie Swim times right before lunch and then go out to the Shermaton for their Sunday brunch.
The outings are starting to pay off as the kids are both quite comfortable in the pools. We definitely need to keep an eye on Everett as he is getting adventurous, such as enjoying playing right at the waterfall slide where the water is rough and turbulent, and a current can carry him out in to the deep end. I watch him like a hawk and give him enough latitude hopefully so that he can find his limits, but he is fearless. Even after inhaling some water, he coughs it off and keeps going.
Sierra just completed a parented swim lesson so she’s still cautious, especially when we first get to the pool. But by the end of it, she follows after Everett and remembers how to jump and put her face in the water.
