Dark Light

Well, here we go again. For the last couple of weeks, the kids are glued to mama, and daddy is chopped liver. Only with huge effort can I sneak in a hug and a kiss, but usually with Sierra it is “No!” her favorite word.

Sierra knows a couple of words now and can say mama, dada (and when she says it emphasizing the second syllable drawing it out, it sounds really cute), boh-boh, bubbles, she says “no” probably 90% of the time than any other word.

She recognizes more words than you would expect. Sometimes I tell Sierra to grab something like “the bear” and she would go and grab stuffed animal to my surprise. When we are reading one of the books, and she sees the  ears, she would touch her own ears, and then turn her head around and look at my ears. She plays dumb sometimes on purpose!

I’m sure Shannon wishes she was chopped liver so they kids are clinging on to me all the time. At bed time, they keep wanting mom to read to them. During snuggle time right before bed, Everett tells me “You’re done! Now mommy’s turn!” He quickly gives me a hug and a kiss so that I’ll go and he gets mommy to himself.
