The last couple of weeks, Sierra has been making some strides. She doesn’t creep too often, preferring to crawl, but around tables or surfaces about chest height to her, she likes climbing up on them, making mommy and daddy worried that she’s going to fall off and bonk her head.
We were upstairs in the bedroom one evening and Sierra got distracted picking at some stickers on a book. She accidentally stood up without noticing it and took several steps towards me. Had she really been paying attention, she would have freaked out and had to sit down.
The official date of walking is probably Oct 1, when we went out for Sunday brunch at the Sheraton. That would have been my parent’s 40th anniversary as well. On this occasion, Sierra would gleefully walk towards us, and even getting up several times after stumbling. There was the occasional face plant, but our little girl is definitely going to be on the move now!
On a side note, without a doubt Sierra has inherited dada’s appetite. She continues to be an eating machine.
Because of a delay and resultant missed connection, we were held up in Minneapolis Airport for about 5 hours. We put this time to good use practicing our steps! I think Sierra is as excited as we are!
