We missed several day home visits because there was some sort of epidemic picking off the kids one at a time at Candice’s. I think it lasted two weeks. So trying to drop Everett of the last two times was difficult as he very much did not want to go to day home. He would say he’d wants to stay home, or even go back to bed.
The last day home visit was bad enough that Candice called Shannon to discuss some sort of intervention, mainly that he just needs to go regularly so that he’s used to it. That’s probably true, because a couple months ago, Everett liked going. However this time it took him about 45 minutes because he quit crying. When Candice threatened him with going to bed, he said he wanted to go to bed! Then he woke up from his nap screaming, and during music time, he didn’t participate.
Poor little guy, it’s tough being a little Bean.
When I picked him up, I drove him to his great grandpa’s place to see Benji and feed the fish, as a matter of variety. But he just wanted to go home and cried the few minutes we were there until great grandpa gave him a snack.
