Dark Light

It was Everett’s girlfriend Natalie’s birthday yesterday and his bud Arlo’s birthday today. So many kids at their house! If there was another stage in the family cycle, this was it – the socialization with friends who also have young children. By circumstance or coincidence our closest friends here in Red Deer have children who are also between the ages of 1 and 2. Everett is not concerned around crowds of children nor adults. He walks around all over the place playing with toys, kind of interacting with the other kids, trying to go up and down stages and looking in peoples’ boots and purses. When I got to Arlo’s house, Everett was buzzing around with the push ‘n pull corn popper thing navigating around a maze of adult legs, doing his own thing, exploring. He gently pet the household cat, and later pet the fur rug by the fireplace. He pointed out the balloons “boh-boh” to Eli, who of course had no idea what he was saying, and thought it was funny trying to go up the ungated stairs.
